The "useless belt" trend is objectively a little silly and we're into it. No function, just there to look good, clipped over a sweater or hanging loose at the hip, sometimes layered over a jacket for no real reason other than it looks right.

Very 2000s, very unserious, exactly what fall needed after three years of everyone dressing like they're on their way to a wellness retreat.

Speaking of which, quiet luxury is dead. Chanel, Dior, Prada all went maximalist this season, actual beading, hand embroidery, embellishment you can see from across the room instead of the kind you have to lean in to notice. Good riddance to the beige era, it had a nice run.

Tuxedo dressing is back too but nobody's actually wearing a tux. It's a sharp blazer thrown over jeans, structured pieces styled way more casually than they were ever meant to be worn. And cherry red is doing what burgundy did the last three falls, except brighter, a little bolder, and honestly more fun to actually wear.

None of this requires new clothes, for the record. You probably already own a belt, a blazer, something with a little shine to it, sitting somewhere in the back of your closet from a season or two ago. The trend cycle just caught up to stuff you already have.

That's kind of the fun part, you don't need to shop for fall, you just need to actually go through what's already there.
